Me and Soeur Howden

It’s probably the highlight of my week!

Hi!
Last Monday was our first P-Day. And it was horrible! We didn’t plan our preparation day part of the day the that well, so we had to hurry everywhere and our use of time was totally lost. Then after dinner we had to go back to our classroom and all of us were wild and we couldn’t concentrate at all. It took about three days for us to recover from the restlessness of the P-Day. Sometimes it’s hard to concentrate on the things we have to do ‘cause most of the time we don’t have a teacher and we really like to talk in our district. It’s quite exciting to notice how we actually have learned to understand the language while reading. Even though we haven’t have that many French lessons. We learn it while studying the gospel. It’s so fun to read the scriptures and sing in French! I just bought a primary songbook en francais.

Yesterday was our first normal Sunday in MTC. It was nice, more relaxed. We had a lovely relief society meeting and in the evening a devotional. And district walk around the temple was simply the best!! It’s probably the highlight of my week! We get to just talk and we don’t have to hurry and to feel bad for not studying.

We’ve studied outside when possible and tried to get some sunlight!

The cookies here are the best in the world!!!! Almost better than the double chocolate chip cookies in Subway. SOOO DELICIOUS! I and Soeur Bagley take a lot of them during lunch and smuggle them out from the cafeteria and nibble them along the day. I’ll be so fat when I’ll come back!

We worked so hard this week!

Hello!

Bordeaux is super nice even though it rains EVERY DAY!!!! I like this city very much. Especially the rich areas that are in good condition hehe.

We worked so hard this week! We had an M week, every day we got a new challenge that we tried to accomplish. Woah we were so tired at the end of the each day. But we met lots of new people and I actually talked to people alone without my trainer. Wohooo!

One day we got a referral for a Belgium lady that we were sent to meet. She lived quite far away, over and hours drive so our senior couple took us there. The place was SO beautiful! Like a proper French country side, vineyards and little cabins everywhere! All I could think was that my mom would love this place!

On Thursday we had zone training and I saw a few friends from MTC. I was so happy, it was like seeing family!! We also ate pizza that had potatoes in it and what(!) it was incredibly good though at first I was like EW!

We live next to a fancy area, but our apartment is in kind of a dark area so we’ve gotten a few admirers. One evening this one man was following us and was totally in love with me. So he took my hand and kissed it. I told him okay thanks and yanked my hand free ‘cause he wouldn’t let go. And this is not the only night that we have had admirers’, but most of them are pretty harmless so no worries.

Our ward is fantastic! Really nice young adults and old ladys whose homes we’re trying to find during the day. I feel that all of them live 'in the middle of nowhere' streets. We’re very bad at reading the map so we get lost often. Heheh.

Till next week!

My first week in MTC

Hello!

The first week has gone by nicely, although it feels like I've been here FOREVER already. But somehow time has flown by really quickly, funny. The days are really long and we don't have much time to catch our breath, only when we're eating, but it doesn't bother or stress me at all.

Our district is so nice and we all get  along really well. Although we have already lost two missionarys. They were too good in french so they got transfered to the two week program instead of the six week. The other one was my companion so now I'm in a triple companionship, but it is fun.

We have really nice teachers here. The other one served in Lyon and the other one in Canada. We can already almost pray and testify in french, sometimes we have to cheat a little. It's so nice here in the MTC. The holy spirit is very strong and we learn more and more each day. The most wounderful thing that you learn here is that Christ is the center point of everything. All the commandmends and guiding that we have is because Christ is like that. It is our goal on earth to become more like He is.

The scariest thing ever, but still very rewarding

Bonjour!

MTC is in the past!! Can't believe it's over. We all arrived safely to France and stayed in Lyon for a couple of days. They made us go do contacting almost immediately. The scariest thing ever, but still very rewarding. Scary, only because I don't understand everything in french and most certainly can not talk it. Me and Soeur Metsatahti decided to contact this one young man standing by himself. We started a very awkward conversation and tried to get to know his religious background and told him about the book of mormon. Suddenly this girl comes up and the man just grabbed the girl and they started making out wildly. Haha oh gosh we just started laughing and kinda ran away. The next day we got assigned our first area and companion. I am now in Nice and my companion is Soeur Howden. She is awesome and really patient when it comes to me being new and totally lost. Nice is absolutely gorgeous!! Oh là là, I will have to write more next week!

Bisous,

Soeur N
